Who We Are
Get to know all about Rookie's Gamble Farm - what we do, our mission and our history.
Rookie's Gamble Farm is a year-round Farm that offers locals a variety of fresh farm products, produce and family friendly events. We specialize in Fruits and Vegetables, Fresh Herbs and Honey, as well as Pork, Lamb, and Pig products!
At Rookie's Gamble Farm we feel incredibly lucky that we get to do what we love. We’d love for you to take part in the Rookie's Gamble Farm experience. For more information, get in touch!
We are part of a co-op that includes Norseman Farm in Granville NY, which specializes in grassfed cow and Fullblood Wagyu and the Battlefield Farm Trail, A coop of local farm stands working together to promote agrotourism in Saratoga County.
Pigs
Every spring we get baby pigs! We have 4 babies on the farm right now. They are living in our new field, clearing it and eating all sorts of yummy roots for us.
Here they are last spring with momma.
Milk Goats
Ginger is out newest girl. She is the first Oberhausli Goat on the farm. She produces over 1 gallon of milk per day. We milk her twice per day, every day. We make cheese, yogurt and custard daily to keep up with her production. And we drink a LOT of chocolate milk!
Sheep and Lambs
2020 is our first year with lambs. Born in late march, these little guys arrived at the farm at two months old.
As of 2021 we have started a herd of registered dorper sheep, which are prized for their high quality meat.
Our Herd is expanding with 4 lambs born this spring and more on the way!
New Additions
Birkshire Hogs and Mixed Breed Hogs
Welcome our new additions to the farm
Each spring baby pigs arrive with their momma from Norsemen Farm. Momma spends the summer with us, helping dig out new pastures as the babies are weaned, then she returns to Norseman for the winter as the piglets continue to grow.
